Military monuments

Troyan

  1. Monument to all who lost their lives in the wars from 1912 - 1913, 1915 - 1918, 1941 - 1945. It is dedicated to the heroism of the soldiers of the 34th Troyan Infantry Regiment, who died in the wars. The momument is situated in a landscaped and well-kept garden about 200 m from the center of the town (Villa "Vanna").
  2. Monument to Dimitar Ikonomov-Dimitritkata (born in Troyan) a member of Botev's revolutionary force, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for his revolutionary activity. He also participates in the struggles for church independence, and for creation of new Bulgarian schools. After the Liberation, he was one of the builders of modern Bulgaria. The monument rises in the central square “Vazrazhdane”, where it was once his home.
  3. Monument to general Pavel Kartsov - commander of the Russian troops, who took over the Troyan passage. The bust was created by the sculptor Docho Terziev from the village of Kaleytsa. It is located in the central part of the town, near the Community Center “Science - 1870”.
  4. A memorial plaque in the place of the inn of Vasil Spasov, in which Vasil Levski founded the Troyan Revolutionary Committee in 1871.

 

Chiflik village

  1. Monument to all residents of Chiflik who lost their lives in the wars from Serbian-Bulgarian to World War II; The monument, built in 2000, is located next to the church.
  2. The monument of Todor Kableshkov - the apostle who announced the beginning of the April Uprising and to his comrades Nayden Popstoyanov, Georgi Turnev and Stefan Pochekov. A relatively new monument, erected in 1998, commemorating the 120th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria. It is created by the sculptor Ivan Varchev from the village of Kaleytsa. Opposite the monument, in the center of the village, is the inn, where the revolutionaries used to stay and where Kableshkov was closed after his capture. A museum collection is arranged there.
  3. Monument to Nikola Voinovski - military commander of Botev's revolutionary forces. It is built in 1996, commemorating the 120th anniversary of the April Uprising.

 

Village of Balkanets

Monument to the Russian soldiers, who died in the Troyan pass during the Liberation War. It was built on the place where 13 Russian soldiers were buried. A small park is formed beside it.

 

Village of Debnevo

A monument dedicated to the participants in Wars from 1912 – 1913, World War I and World War II. It is located in the courtyard of the church "St. Paraskeva" (in the center of the village)

 

Dobodan village

Monument to those killed in the wars (Russian-Turkish, 1912-1913 and World War I). It is built on the initiative of their relatives in September 1919. The monument is located in the center of the village.

 

Dulbok Dol village

  1. A monument is situated west of the town hall building in the village of Dalbok dol. It is built in memory of the soldiers from the village who participated in the First and Second Balkan Wars.
  2. Monument to the residents of the village of Dalbok dol, who died in the struggles for national unification. It is located in the courtyard of the church "St. Archangel Michael"

 

Golyama Zhelyazna village

Monument to those who lost their lives in the wars from 1912 - 1913, 1915 - 1918, 1941 – 1945. The monument is located in the garden in the center of the village, near the Town Hall. It has a built-in fountain.  The monument was built by local masters with funds donated by the villagers and was opened in 1939.

 

Village of Gumoshtnik

Two monuments, which are located in the courtyard of the church in the village. The first one is of those who died in the war in 1912-1913 andthe second one  to the perished ones in 1915-1918;

 

Kaleytsa village

Memorial plaques devoted to the heroes of the national unification wars. They are located on the both sides of the entrance of the church.

 

Lomets village

  1. Memorial plaques to Ganko Stoynov Penchev from the 34th Troyan Infantry Regiment from Lomets, killed on 3th of November 1944 in the village of Balaban, Poduevsko. It is located in the center of Lomets.
  2. Memorial to those who lost their lives in the Wars (1912 - 1913 and 1915 – 1918).

 

Village of Shipkovo

  1. A monument to the local residents killed in the wars in 1885, 1912 - 1913 and 1915 – 1918. It is located in a park in the central part of the village near the church;
  2. Monument-ossuary, built on the grave of Veselin Stoev Terziev. Born on 19th of June, 1920 in the village of Shipkovo. In 1939 - 1941 he studied at the flying school for reserve officers in Marino Pole, Karlovo. He died on May 19, 1944 in an air combat with an English squadron. The monument is located in the courtyard of the church.
  3. Memorial Plaque of Veselin Terziev, which is in his home.

 

Terziysko village

Memorial to  Zahari Stoyanov. After the defeat of Benkovski's revolutionary forces and some days of wandering in the Bakan Mountains, Zahari Stoyanov found shelter in today's Terziysko village, but after betrayal he was captured and taken to prison.

 

Village of Vrabevo

A monument dedicated to the soldiers from the village of Vrabevo, who died in the wars. It is located on the central square of the village.
